Video Poker is a favored game that can be wagered on in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your personal computer, using a web connection. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the highest assemblage of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has chosen which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from game to game, so that experienced players are agile enough to select the most beneficial ones each and every time.

Once the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Additionally, a few styles of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their wins, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
